Hey guys. I bet you get a lot of these questions however I just want a couple of specific points answered. To start with let me point out that I am Mr Apple. iMac, iPad, iphone4, iPod, iPod touch and apple tv. The problem is I'm bored with my iPhone and feel I need a change.

So that's why I'm here. Can anyone tell me if android has anything similar to these apps on iOS. Tom Tom and sky remote record (uk) and activator, bitesms, mywi and sbsettings (jailbreak).

Also, for work I get a lot of emails (gmail). Now the great thing is that I can just tap the address and it opens it in maps and the same with any phone numbers, I just tap to call. Is this the same on android??

Finally, I use Aperture for my photos and iTunes for movies and songs. My iPhone syncs (almost) seamlessly. How would android cope?

Thanks guys....

Hi all.

The Android is certainly more robust than the iOS. While the user interface for the iOS is elegant and well-integrated yet user-focused, the Android's GUI itself may need some tuning up. Both the iOS and the Android are constantly upgraded with enhancements and value additions, with the current Android version at 2.2 while Apple is not far behind with iOS 4.0, scheduled to be released into the consumer market soon.

Thanks.

Hey Currantbun,

I just made the switch myself about 5 days ago. While I don't know the answer to all the specifics you mentioned, everything I was able to do on iPhone that I really cared about I have been able to do so far on android. It just takes some work, but I bet if you put the work in you will not be disappointed. Now that i'm all situated I really enjoy my new samsung galaxy S II a lot!

I think - give google two years, and android will be better iOS at any position. Apple still will have better hardware quality, by the way

As far as I could tell TomTom is on it's way to releasing it's android version of their navigation software.

I myself am using iGo My Way, that gives me an offline navigation solution (maps are kept on the sd card) and it works great!

Travelled with it in the US and in various European countries. I love it!
