Now that the S 4 is official, I’m sure everyone is wondering when their carrier is going to offer the device. We don’t have any official word on that yet, but like what we saw last night with a few Canadian carriers, AT&T and T-Mobile have launched pages letting you sign up to be the first to know when your new gadget becomes available, and how much cash it’s going to set you back. Hopefully we’ll get some preorder information out of the page in the near future as well. Hit the links below to check out the pages for each carrier.

So you’ve seen how awesome the Galaxy S IV is, but in the back of your mind you’re still wondering if your carrier will officially carry the device. If you’re a Rogers, Bell, or TELUS customer in Canada, put those fears to rest, as all three of the big cell carriers have taken to their Twitter accounts to confirm that they will be carrying your new favorite “Life Companion.”

There’s nothing official about date and pricing, but these things are going to fly off the shelves. You can likely expect the devices to be made available as soon as possible for each carrier, but keep your ears out for details as we get closer to April.

HTC_One_Sense_5

The HTC One, officially available March 15th on a huge assortment of carriers, is now up for preorder on Rogers in Canada. New and existing customers can reserve the device for launch day for $149.99 on a three-year contract. And anyone that preorders before March 22nd will be entered in a drawing to win a free Sharp HDTV, complete with an HTC Media Link accessory. Unfortunately, that probably means the One won’t be available on Rogers before the 22nd, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

HTC_One_Announcement

HTC has finally taken the wraps off of its worst-kept secret— the HTC One smartphone. The smartphone comes fully decked out while featuring some pretty cool enhancements giving users a unique Android experience. For starters, the smartphone features a 4.7-inch full 1080p LCD3 display, quad-core Snapdragon 600 chip, 2 gigs of RAM and Android 4.1.2 topped off with Sense 5— all in one hell of an aluminum package. HTC also aims to give users a topnotch social network and multimedia experience by introducing some neat tools including:

  • Blinkfeed – an updated stream of news and social networks featuring 1,400 content providers including ESPN. Think full-screen wallpaper/widget with a Flipboard layout displaying all sorts of custom content
  • SenseVoice – sound enhancement feature which allows users to optimize call sound when in a noisy environment by chcking the ambient sounds in the background
  • Full IR capabilities which allows the device to control a home theater unit
  • Ultrapixel – giving 300% more light with camera
  • HTC Zoe – captures video and high resolution photos automatically, while also giving you topnotch organization by bringing your gallery together. Also allows for the ability to make a slideshow  highlight with movies as well by implementing automatic transitions between scenes and it can edit on its own. Zoe also allows users to combine multiple images into one and can even eliminate people from photos at a later time

Now for the information you all really want to know— when and where the device will be available. It will be a while before we see the device in our balmy mitts, but HTC has confirmed it will be available in 80 countries by the end of March. Additionally, the smartphone will come in 32GB and 64GB variants and land in AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile stores for those of us here in the States (no Verizon?) and will also be available for customers by the end of March as well— though there’s no word on pricing just yet.

Hit the break to see HTC’s full presser.

AT&T adds Little Rock to list of LTE markets, expands LTE in Florida and California

by Jared Peters on
tagged , ,

AT&T is committed to expanding their LTE network quickly, and it’s always exciting to see new markets get some LTE love. This morning, AT&T announced their LTE service was live in Little Rock, Arkansas, and expanded in Key West to include Big Pine Key and the Lower Keys, Marathon, Islamorada and Key Largo. Bakesfield, California is also receiving some expanded coverage.

That’s great news if you plan on picking up a shiny new toy soon, like the Galaxy Note II, or if you just had any other LTE AT&T phone, as you’ll really get the most out of the devices with the much faster LTE data speeds. Is anyone in those new or expanded markets enjoying faster data this morning?

Canadian carrier Bell mobility has announced a slew of new unlimited talk and text plans that are slated to go head to head with Roger’s recently announced offerings. Unsurprisingly, unlimited data is nowhere to be found, but the company does manage to undercut a few other northern carriers in terms of pricing.

The new plans include:

  • $55/month 1000 minutes, 200 MB broadband data
  • $65/month unlimited local talk, 1 GB broadband data and 10 hours of Bell MobileTV
  • $75/month unlimited local talk, 3 GB broadband data and 10 hours of Bell MobileTV
  • $95/month unlimited Canada-wide talk, 5 GB broadband data and 10 hours of Bell MobileTV
Bell is also offering unlimited nationwide long-distance calling for an additional $10 per month. The new plans will be available beginning November 9th and can be purchased online or in any brick-and-mortar store.
