Averatec To Release An Android Netbook?

During a recent interview with CNET, Averatec’s Tae-Hyun Cho revealed that the company’s upcoming TriGem sub-brand netbook will include a “surprise” operating system that will be a “merger of cell phone and PC technology”.

Currently the Google Android platform is one of the few operating systems to fit Cho’s description, and has led to rumors that the upcoming 10-inch netbook will be one of the first to be powered by the open source operating system.

The Averatec netbook is scheduled for release sometime in August or September with system pricing currently not known.

Last week Skytone announced plans to launch their first Android powered netbook, the budget-priced Skytone Alpha 680 in the next few months.
