The guys over at DroidLife received a screenshot of Verizon’s Droid 2 inventory, and it looks like 6610 Droid 2′s are in inventory already across the nation, and we expect that number to rise over the next few days before launch. The Droid 2 will most likely be released August 12th for $199.99 on contract, and will be the first device to launch with the new Android 2.2 Froyo OS.

If you haven’t already I recommend you check out Verizon’s 360 view of the Droid 2 here!

Will you get a Droid 2 this Thursday? I am curious to see how many Original Droid owners will be making the switch to the newer features the Droid 2 has to offer. Tell us what you think in the comments!

Only if they are offering some sort of in place upgrade to the new phone. I’m certainly not paying $600 for a speed upgrade and minor keyboard layout change :)
