Sony Ericsson Android phones Going To Be ‘Some Time’

Sony Ericsson CEO, Hideki Komiyama has revealed that the company will not be launching an Android powered mobile phone anytime soon.

In a recent interview with Reuters, Komiyama mentioned that it would be "some time" before the Android operating system made its way onto a production handset.

Komiyama acknowledged that “It does require a lot of evaluation, as well as a lot of testing, a lot of acceptance from a consumer viewpoint, and there is still some time to go.”

Previous rumors have suggested that Sony Ericsson might be releasing an android powered device as early as this Summer.

During the interview Komiyama does confess that "looking ahead," he views the platform as an "important operating system," but sadly gave no indication that we can expect to see a Sony Ericsson Android phone anytime soon.
