Over at PC Mag, Sascha Segan got to spend some quality time with Cricket’s two new Android phones:
- Sanyo Zio
- Huawei M860
In the review, Sascha talks about how easy web browsing is on the $249 Sanyo Zio, mentioning how it’s made by Kyocera, but That’s a brand that Sanyo owns anyway. He talks about the gracious screen real estate coming in at 800×480, and a relatively standard processor at 600MHz. The only real qualm seems to be the fact that it is running Android 1.6, but sources say that it will be upgraded to “at least” 2.1.
The next phone, the $199 Huawei M860, will actually launch with 2.1 on board, but is said to feel a bit cheaper than the Zio. the screen resolution isn’t nearly as generous at 320×480, and the phone touts a 3.2 MP camera. One of the noticeable changes is that the home screens can be swiped both horizontally and vertically, making the experience different from stock Android.
