Archos is known for their low-cost tablet options, and their Arnova line is one of the most affordable. Remember when they were giving away an Arnova 10 G2 tablet when subscribing to a digital Philadelphia newspaper? Well Archos just announced a new 8″ slate called the Arnova 8b G2. This is essentially a small update to the Arnova 8 G2. The listed specs are as follows:
- 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 single core processor
- 8 inch, 800 x 600 pixel capacitive multitouch display
- Front-facing camera
- G-Sensor
- 4GB to 8GB of storage
- 512MB of RAM
- Wi-Fi
- microSDHC card slot
- Buttonless design
- Android 2.3 Gingerbread
- 8.8″ x 6.1″ x 0.5″ / weighs 1.1 pounds
The buttonless design makes us wonder if it will be receiving ICS in a future update, but the so-so specs could nix that plan. No price was announced yet, but if it's anything like it's older sibling, it should be in the vicinity of $150 to $180. Who's in?

Aftersales at Archos are pore. 2010 customers with the first Archos tablets are still dealing with a slow Android 2.2 device nowadays. I wuld recommend any Archos product to friends or relatives.
