According to a pie graph over at the Android Developers Blog, Android 2.1 and Android 2.2 are now taking up 64.2% of Android handsets. The total numbers are broken up as follows:
- 2.1 – 59.7%
- 1.6 – 20.3%
- 1.5 – 15.3%
- 2.2 – 4.5%
The good news is that this brings the numbers for Froyo up from the last time we saw this chart by 1.2%. As these numbers keep improving and eventually start leaning towards 2.2 being the dominant OS, then we should hopefully start seeing the end to the fragmentation that has been plaguing Android users.
