What the Fring!

A couple of months ago I installed this amazing app called Fring, if you haven’t heard of it what it does, or should I say did, was it enabled the end user to use instant chat services such as Skype, MSN and likes through your Android phone.

This was amazing as it worked perfectly through 3G connections for voice and video. I was so excited that my friends overseas could contact me through SKYPE straight to my phone whenever they wanted. However this hit a snag on the 12th of July, Skype apparently blocked Fring from using their software in their applications, Fring’s side of events. Skype came out and said that it was Fring who was in the wrong, stating that “Fring’s miss-use of our software was increasingly damaging our brand and reputation with our customers”.

To be honest I really don’t care, either let Fring use your software Skype or produce an app that the world can use on Android for Skype and hurry up as it’s been far too long without Skype access on most of our Android phones.

    “misuse”, not “miss-use”.

Try Nimbuzz – it’s what I’ve been using since fring became useless for me

    Totally agreed.
I switched from the Nokia N900 to an Android and I have to say that there is something Nokia does much better: Skype integration.
Please bring Skype with an official app, I can’t stand the poor quality 3rd party apps !

    FRING IT!!!
I don’t like it, I don’t understand how to use fring with google voice.

It just says it’s dialing, but never connects.

I’m wiping it off my phone.
