I was just wondering… what if i upgraded my unlocked g1 (android 1.1) to android 1.5, do you think itll lock my phone? thanks for the help

its pointless getting our hopes up again anyway because the cupcake update in january was coming and we never got it. and were not gonna get this one either

@johnkzin a proper Google Docs app would be ace but at least people like AndrOffice are working on a good Office program which, combined with the GDocs app already out will provide a solution

Doubt it will be too long before we have a good integrated system available

Download the preview release @johnkzin and you will see that its actually worth it. And the combined go and search is really good. Look at how chrome does it. Same thinking!

The Google Docs and Reader stuff you mentioned will never be in the regular cupcake releases, since those are part of the “proprietary” software and are closed source. So maybe there being developed independently! (here is to hoping).

But fully agree with still not having an API and further support for BT.

So, lets see…

No Bluetooth FTP nor HID (nor BIP)

No Gmail “send as” nor filter edit/create

No Google Reader keyboard shortcuts nor tag add/edit/create

No IM expansion (more than one Talk account, more Jabber servers than just Google Talk, more than one active IM account at a given time)

No Google Docs read/write

I’m having a very hard time finding much to get excited about. Lots of “ho hum” (soft keyboard, cut/copy and paste, etc.). At least one “WTF? that’s STUPID” (unified “go” and “search” box in the web browser!?).

I hope the general speed ups and detail clean ups are worth it, because it otherwise sounds like a waste of time.
