Dell Streak’s beta test units possibly being blocked from AT&T network

The Dell Streak, AT&T’s new baby, was handed out awhile ago to a lucky group of beta testers to be, well, beta tested. The testing group was told that they could hold onto the device, and use it out in the wild. They did so, happily, and without restriction, for quite awhile in Austin, TX (where the device was originally handed out to the beta group). They were told by AT&T to use it as they would any other device.

Now, though, there are reports flowing in that AT&T has now completely blocked off these units from being used on their network. According to reports, all voice calls are being directly rerouted to AT&T customer service, along with all data being completely blocked to or from the devices.

AT&T has yet to comment on the situation, but keep it here for any breaking news that should arise.

I have a account with att and a sony ericson phone that i mainly use a modem for my laptop. I pulled my sim card from it and installed it in my streak (i participated in the beta) had no intention of selling it. was working until yesterday. Att has suspended my account, Which is paid in full. so there is some truth to this blog.
