HTC denies T-Mobile Wildfire recall

There were reports last week about the fact that there may be a “silent recall” on HTC Wildfire handsets on T-Mobile. But, HTC is now saying that although the device showed as “out of stock” on their site, there is no recall. According to a PR Rep for HTC:

…there’s absolutely no truth to the HTC Wildfire T-Mobile recall. The handset is simply sold out due to demand, and HTC has received no complaints from T-Mobile.

I guess that’s why they call it the rumor mill, eh? Let us  know what you think in the comments.

Would you make up your mind? HTC Desire or Wildfire?

I tried to order a Wildfire from T-Mobile (UK) about two weeks ago, and was told over the phone that they had sent their phones back to HTC for a software fault, and weren’t expecting any to become available again until mid-august.

hmmm, troubling story. I HAVE A WILDFIRE, I HAVE NOTICED THIS ISSUE, I AM WITH T MOBILE.
However, I am of the opinion that it is due to poorly written apps, running in the background and hogging memory perhaps. My first android, so have been using it continuously since purchased; initially had absolutely no trouble, then a couple of weeks in with the phone heavily app laden, i’ve had a couple of crashes had to pull out battery.
I have my suspicions, the crash may be coinciding with FRING loaded in the background.
I also have heard of a 70 app limit, i have way more than that, which may cause problem.
I have also put in a cheap class 6 16gig card, around about the time the trouble started….
clearly many variables to eliminate, just a matter of time

got a wildfire on 18 august and crashed only once, while transfering a big file over wifi (prob a sd card issue). recovered perfectly though. mine is unbranded, as because my past xperiences i avoid branded phones like plague, i suggest everyone to do the same

I got a wildfire for my daughter about 4 weeks ago and so far no problems at all. In fact Im so impressed with it I just tried to get another one for my wife and was told by Tmobile it had been recalled for software issues and they werent getting them in again??? I have an Iphone 3G and think the wildfire is a better phone at much cheaper rates. Maybe their sales of other phones has dropped and has something to do with them removing it from their choices. who knows, hopefully the truth will come out.

I haven’t got any problems with my Wildfire. I live in Denmark – It’s a bit slow when i have installed too many apps (about 10-15), but with Android 2.2 it shouldn’t be a problem.
