A few weeks back, when we had the opportunity to join up with Sony during CES, we got a first hand look at the upcoming stain resistant, fast charging, Xperia S smartphone. We were pretty impressed with Sony’s presentation of its soon to be Solo flagship device, but were even more pleased to learn that this awesome phone would be available sometime in March.
It wasn’t a matter of time before retailers started listing the device on their respective websites as “available in March,” leading many to believe Sony was on track with the previously mentioned launch plans. That was until Play.com posted that they expected to receive shipment of the Xperia S on January 30th.
Well January 30th has come and gone with no sign of the phone from Play.com. While they maintain that the date wasn’t a glitch or a typo, they certainly didn’t get their release info directly from Sony and has since changed the expected date to early March. I’m sorry to say, but for those of you who were hoping to get your hands on the Xperia S sometime in the coming weeks, it seems that the original release plan is still in tact. But fear not my friends… because March is only in two shakes of a lambs tail!
