Good information. Currently I just got a Samsung Omnia SCH-i910 within the mail from ebay, and it at this time would seem that it is at stock settings for the Verizon Network. I strategy to utilize this cell phone on Metro PCS. I also desire to place Windows Mobile 6.5 on right here, but I'm not positive which order I must do this in. Must I bring it to Metro PCS as is and have it activated, after which afterwards flash the ROM with 6.five? Or really should I modify the ROM 1st after which it carry it to Metro PCS? I've been searching around and I'm unable to find the response to this.

looks like someone has taken android software and loaded it into the omnia (http://uk.samsungmobile.com/mobile-phone/SamsungOmnia-overview) or a very similar phone... i dont think samsung will launch an android based phone just yet... you should note the android is popular already as a transfer OS, as its easier to move around than the windows based platform.

I thought UMTS 900/950 (along with 2100) was European, not US.

US is 800/850 + 1900, isn't it?

I think this platform could be a really good thing for Samsung. I have seen some of their recent phones and I haven't been too impressed with the UI.

This will give them the chance to concentrate on the hardware and leave the rest up to the Android community.
