Galaxy S to Have Micro-USB to HDMI Output

So, word on the web has been that the Galaxy S phones would be running video out through the 3.5mm headphone jack, but that it just wouldn’t be able to support the resolutions that we want on our HDTVs. Of course, there’s the micro-usb port, but it’s not possible to run HD video through usb 2.0.

Except that Samsung says it is. Apparently they have engineered the devices to support it, and will soon make a cable available for the low price of $50 that will run micro-usb to HDMI. It appears, based on the picture, to have a place to plug the micro-usb charger into the HDMI end of the cable so that you can be charging your phone while streaming your video to your TV.

So rest easy, friends. Samsung has heard your cries, and you will have HD.
