Don’t let the price fool you, the specs on the Augen Gentouch 7″ Android tablet aren’t that bad. The tablet is hitting Kmart of all places, and it looks like someone managed to snag one and share some pictures with DroidLife.

By the looks of the tablet, I will be trying to get one myself. Will you try to grab the $150 Augen Gentouch tablet, or will you hold off?

Tell us what you think in the comments.

I shall be keeping my hard-earnt money in my pocket. The idea that ‘bigger is better’ seems to dominate. Bigger is not better when the resolution is only 800×480, in a 7″ screen this means individual pixels are roughly twice as big as in a normal sized screen at the same resolution. 800mhz processor? An HTC Desire has better specs than this, no wonder it is only $150. My advice, good try, but don’t bother, it wont be hard for better to come along.

    RE: Tony Hedges

an HTC Desire is $500+ retail, this is $150. Tablets won’t get the same subsidies that cell phones do so comparison is apples and oranges.

Any chance this thing works with a stylus (and that there’s a suitable handwritten note taking app for Android)?

I’d love to scoop up one of these if that’s the case. It’d seriously drop the weight of my backpack on campus this fall :)

    *sigh* … and I’m literate, I promise :)

Answered my own question. Yup, comes with a stylus. Now to find a good app for note taking…

It does indeed come with a stylus, as it has a resistive touch screen.

Try NoteEverything. You can use handwritten notes with that app.

Nice. Thanks for the pointer, Mike!

    No problem!
