Get a Look at What Sense 3.5 Could Look Like on Ice Cream Sandwich with Leaked ROM for the HTC Sensation

If you are like us, then you are curious as to what Sense would look like on Ice Cream Sandwich. If you have a Sensation that’s rooted then you may be in luck as a leaked ICS ROM has surfaced. Even with the fact that HTC has promised ICS for the Sensation and that it appears it could be gracing the phone as early as February, folks are still chomping at the bit to get some Ice Cream Sandwich goodness on their devices.

The ROM is RCMix ICE v1.0 and it appears that it is based on a early official build that was leaked. As you can see, the standard Sense dock has been replaced with a more generic dock bar. It shows the ability to have folders but I feel this rendition of it is somewhat less amazing than the ICS folder visuals. I am also a little sad to see the standard Sense icons and polish as I think ICS is polished well enough to begin with, but Sense lovers will rejoice at the fact that it comes with most of ICS’ features. They are:

Features:

  • Base – 3.06.401.101 Sensation XE, Android 4.0.1
  • Kernel – Stock, 3.0.13-g8085863 htc-kernel
  • Face unlock
  • Movie Studio
  • Added Keyboard pop up animation.
  • EVO Latin IME (standard android keyboard)
  • As stock as possible, for now.
Keep in mind that this is a test build and is in a very alpha stage of development. This means that various aspects are subject to change between now and an official release and there are probably unknown bugs or issues in the ROM. Also from reading the XDA thread, there appears to be horrible battery life but the thread suggests ways to make it somewhat better.
For those of you that are wanting to see what it would look like if Ice Cream Sandwich and Sense 3.5 were to hook up, hit the download link below to give it a whirl. It comes with a custom recovery so that you can flash the ROM easily. Also, be patient as the first boot is said to take a long time. If you have any questions hit the source to head over to XDA’s thread, otherwise if you are only just a little bit curious you can check out the other images of ICE v1.0 below. Enjoy!
