The app you mentioned is called Gowalla but I guess you know by now:) actually there is a new app for Android and iPhones that has this function to see if there are friends in the area who are free to hang out. It's called Who's Free and it's pretty cool:) I found it here: http://bit.ly/fqZy6g

I was on bloomber tv and heard about this new global positioning app for cellphones that allows you to update your friends to where you are. Something similar to twitter. You can send updates to your location incase people are in the area and can come meet you. I hear the newscaster say something like "GOGALA" or "GUGALLA". Does anyone know what that is??????
Thanks

There is also a very nice social game called Planet Agora Evolution Game. You can check their web page www.planetagora.com, althought I do not know the current state of the application. Perhaps they are waiting for the release of Android based mobile phones.

I like pocket journey, Commandro is cool. I like weNear a lot, although it is very close to snap, it should be added to the list. one limitation though in both of them is how they are going to gather the interests.

weNear is a location aware mobile application that will keep you connected to all your favorite people and stuff when they get nearby.

Mobile users of weNear will be able to announce tagged messages. These messages will be received by other nearby wenear users whose interests match these tags.
check the video on http://www.wenear.com/video-demo

Hi,

I think you should add this to your list:

http://download.wizi.com/pr/Android_press_en.pdf

The most important difference, is that it adds the real time traffic routes. This routes are generated by users using the application on all platforms.

Take a look @ http://wizi.com.
