There is now a pre-sale page up for Cricket Wireless. Not a big deal, in and of itself, except for one thing: it’s touting their first ever Android phone.

The Kyocera Zio will probably be going on sale August 15th (according to sources) and come with a special $55 unlimited rate plan. The specs on the Zio aren’t all that great, coming in with:

  • 3.5-inch WVGA display
  • 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor
  • 3.2 MP camera
  • Android 1.6

Keep in mind, though… this is an entry level phone that should be showing it”s face at between $249 and $299. There is also talk that there will be an upgrade to Android 2.x later, but there isn’t any word from Cricket as to whether or not that applies to the device on their plans.

Below is a video preview of the Kyocera Zio. Let us know what you think in the comments!
