HTC Hero users on Orange now receiving Android 2.1

According to an article over at eurodroid, there has been news flowing in that HTC Hero users, locked in on Orange, are getting their updates (finally) to Android 2.1. So, if you’re on Orange with a Hero, go to your updates in your system settings and see if there is any 2.1 goodness lurking in the shadows.

    It’s only part one. I have it and installed it, checked for part two and no sign yet… i hope we don’t have to wait too long for the main deal….

    Could be worse. You could be a Rogers customer with a Magic. Waiting to see if they eventually decide to just forget about the 2.1 update. When it is finally available they will probably skip the Magic cause the phone is too old.

    I can find the option to check for updates on my HTC Hero under Settings!

    I’m an Orange uk customer, its now September and I have still seen no sign of receiving this update yet – either part one or part two… I’m getting extremely annoyed with Orange now over this!

    Be happy that you don’t have a HTC Tattoo, the phone HTC forgot they made. Magic and Hero, both older phones, got updated to 2.1, HTC ain’t planning any update at all for Tattoo.
