So… I have just become the proud owner of a Dell Streak. And, as a Fring user I was interested to see if the video calling update was any good. My son managed to scoop an iPhone4 on launch day, so I thought I would test out Fring with a video call between my streak and his iPhone4.
Obviously, we have to have Fring on both devices and have active Fring accounts. So, once he was all set, we attempted the call.
We were both in good 3G areas and, although the first call was a bit sticky here and there, once the connection was established, it was a very clear and easy to use. The front camera of the streak worked very well, and we could see and hear each other no problem at all. I have to admit that I was a little jealous of the iPhone4 ability to flip between front and rear camera, but i’m sure this will soon be possible with my streak.
As an easy to setup and use video calling utility, you cant go far wrong with Fring. If you’re interested, check it out for yourself here.
