Verizon following in AT&T footsteps, limiting data plans?

Get out your phones and prepare to make an angry phone call, folks. It looks like Verizon, in true AT&T fashion, may be headed to capped data plans.

According to engadget, VZW may be headed to a “tiered bucket strategy” on July 29th, that would put users in select buckets with limited amounts of data, but none unlimited. If AT&T is any clue to what the future of Big Red may hold, we may be looking at $25 for 2GB or $15 for 250MB. With as close as these two companies are as far as competition goes, though, you can expect the tiers to be right around those areas.

What do you think of this possible data plan cappage? let us know in the comments!

I won’t stick with VZW if my data is capped. Period. Not even with a 20 gig cap.I average 6 gig in a month with a majority of my time spent on wifi, and that’s not tethering my Droid at all. Flash will just increase that data usage with lame ass ads. No thanks. I’ll go Sprint or T-Mo/iWireless.
