DROID2 Global Gingerbread Update Approaches… Again

DROID2 Global owners were left with nothing less than utter frustration after their Gingerbread update was yanked away last month due to a Microsoft Exchange encryption issue that was discovered at the last minute. For those of you that didn’t have a chance to blast your way to Gingerbread before its sudden removal, rest assured – your time is coming. A support document showing a new build of 4.5.608 has been approved and the OTA update (with the same changelog as before) should be available within the next week.

If you are chomping at the bit and don’t want to wait to be prompted, follow these instructions to check on your update: Settings > Software Update > Check New.

Hit the break for the changelog and leave us a comment if you have success with your update.

If you’re experiencing issues with your keyboard, I have a solution.

    Settings > Language & keyboards > Multi-touch keyboard.

    Then:

    – Disable ‘vibrate on keypress.’

    – Disable ‘next word prediction.’

    – Clear learned words.
