What happened to Froyo for the Droid?
Recently there was a big buzz going around concerning leaked information that the original Droid, was going to be receiving the Froyo 2.2 update on July 13th. Well that date has come and gone and still no Froyo
. To this point I have not received any update for my Droid and others are asking questions as well. Was this another hype gone sour? Has anyone received the official Froyo update for their Droid yet?
With the news today that the Droid is reaching its end of life what does this mean for those who are not rooted? Is this going to keep us from getting the exciting Froyo update now? If we get any other news about this much anticipated update we will let you know.

Seriously. I thought I was going to be awesome with flash but no dice? Then my buddy got the Droid X and I played with it for a while. He was the awesome one.

So…root your phone and put on a froyo ROM. I think froyo’s still going to happen on Droid.
Oh yea, key word on that last article: RUMOR.

Froyo was pulled from the Droid 1. Motorola decided to focus their efforts elsewhere. They no longer are going to support any phone that can be rooted.

Max: Motorola responded to your comment on their official forums with the following words:
“Matt, the forum manager says: Do I really have to respond when some guy named “Max” posts nonsense on some other site? :^0
It’s complete fantasy.”

I just got off the phone with Verizon on N.W.FREEWAY in Houston. They said I would have the 2.2 update around the end of July for my Droid (original).

when i went to buy the a droid operated phone, i walked into one of the newest fancy ass stores and had decided to go with the “evo” because i thought the track bar was cool and the cost was considerably less. I told the clerk my decision. The clerk began to tell me how the evo was a great phone but that the droid would be upgraded to have flash.. Being an internet junky i understood the power of flash and how much better the it would be. upon her promise i spent the extra money on the droid and have been patiently waiting for the upgrade. I suggest others to do the same (whether it happened to you or not.) This would bring up a lawsuit based on false advertising.. and suddenlt 2.2 will be added to droid… In the mean time I’m going back to the store and speak with the same girl that always is there, and remind her about her broken promise. anyone want to take a bet that i’ll get either an up grade to X or my money back.. I’ll keep you all posted on the outcome. if it works, then i’ll explain what i did, and i sugest you all follow along..
This of course is if they do scrap the upgrade as one post said earlier.
