HTC Thunderbolt Gingerbread Update Filled With Bugs, Has It Been Pulled Down?

by Harold Williams

After a long wait, the Gingerbread update finally went out for the HTC Thunderbolt the other day. This long wait was answered with an update riddled with some pretty serious bugs and an update changelog that was incorrect on Verizon’s website. The first problem was that voice mail notifications are no longer working. I know plenty of people that still rely on Verizon’s voice mail and do not use Google Voice, so this posses a pretty serious issue and a bug that should never have made it to the masses. The second bug is video chat capabilities in Google Talk that 2.3.4 is supposed to bring is being reported to not work at all. Sure, these bugs may not be the end of the world, but in most cases the masses have no idea how to root or flash fixes, and quite frankly they shouldn’t have to. It’s being reported that this update has now been pulled from Verizon’s servers and for those of you that took the update, we can only hope a fix comes sooner than later. If you are of the more technically inclined, you can check out this thread here thanks to rootzwiki to see if you can at least resolve your voice mail problems. How do bugs like this even get out into a public build? Hit up the break for the correct changlog as well.
