Those with a fond attachment to their original 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab take heart. Sammy has announced that they’ll be bringing the next iteration of the venerable tablet in a gradual roll-out across the world, starting with Indonesia and Austria in late October. So what kind of updates can we expect with the new Tab? Software-wise, we’ll be looking at Android version 3.2, a welcome Honeycomb update from the 2.2 Froyo that the original Tab is currently running. Samsung didn’t skimp with the hardware either: 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1 Gig of RAM, 2MP front camera and 3MP rear camera, and two internal memory flavors at 16 and 32 Gigs. It’s also a mere 345 grams (.75 pounds) and 9.96 mm (.39 inches) thin. Still no word on pricing and nothing regarding date of availability here in the States, but given the Kindle Fire’s recent announcement, we’ll hope for “soon” and “cheap,” respectively. Full presser after the break.
