Earlier today we were at the Samsung Galaxy Portfolio Event in New York City, and we had a change to checkout the Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 and 4.0. They will be available for pre-order on September 27th, and available nationwide on October 16th. Pricing will be $229 for the 4.0 and the $269 for the 5.0.

    GREAT …

    The marketer in me suggests that the Samsung Galaxy range of devices is about to be renamed.

    If Samsung was to consider itself ‘the SUN’ in the mobile universe with Android Honeycomb as ‘Gravity’ – holding all together – then the various Samsung models could be named as ‘the Planets’.

    In my mind, it would only need Samsung to introduce a 6″ model … and call it ‘the Samsung EARTH’ and we’d have a fully renamed Galaxy of products to help it fight the ridiculous legal shenanigans of Apple Corp.

    There you are Samsung … you can have that for FREE !!!
