It seems like everyone is trying to make a name for themselves whether it’s on Facebook or YouTube. Well now you can try and make a name for yourself as a news reporter of sorts with Meporter, the app that turns your phone into your own personal news station. With this app you’ll be able to capture anything that’s of interest, like a local car accident or bad weather, and write it up as news for the world to see. This will be done via your current location and within the app and you’ll be able to create a headline for your news as well as upload a video or pictures and type up the story for the event. There is also an option to feed this news to your Facebook or Twitter accounts as well. You can also earn “street credit” by gaining rewards for your posts. This could be a cool app that could take off and I’ll say that the software itself is very well done. It’s snappy, pleasing to the eye, and so far works as it should. The success of this application will all depend on how many people join up and use it, so jump on and try it out. It looks like it could be fun to give it a chance and see where it goes. Meporter is free and can be grabbed from the market right here or from the QR below. Check out the intro video to get an idea of how this all works. Let us know what your experiences are with this app as well.
