Photos of the upcoming Motorola ATRIX 2 (codenamed Edison) has surfaced along with some details. The first piece of info is that it won’t have LTE. We suspected that when the Edison passed through the FCC with no LTE radios. It will come with a dual-core processor, which is far from a surprise. The question is if it will be a 1.2GHz or 1.5GHz. An 8MP camera with 1080 HD video capture is confirmed along with Android 2.3.5, but there was no information on the screen resolution. We expect it to launch by the end of the year.
Now that we know the Atrix 2 won’t have LTE, we have to ask what Motorola has up their sleeve? At the end of July, Sanjay Jha said there would be one more LTE phone for 2011. We figured it would be the Atrix 2 because of the DROID Bionic launch on Verizon Wireless, and the AT&T LTE roll out. It looks like the DROID HD (Dinara) will be out sooner rather than later.
