The V430 is the newest Android smartphone from ViewSonic, the maker’s of the ViewPad 4 and V350 handset devices we told you about earlier this year. These previous offerings gave users a decent phone with a nice appearance and good overall performance for the time, but the new V430 doesn’t seem to offer many upgrades.
It’s powered by a single-core 1GHz Snapdragon processor, will run on the same old Android 2.2, have 512MB of Ram, a 5-megapixel rear camera and VGA front cam. The one true upgrade to speak of is its larger 4.3-inch display, making it the largest available from ViewSonic on their smartphones. The price and other launch details are not yet known, but the V430 may serve as an attractive option if kept in the low to mid range as it is expected to be. That is, if you, unlike me, can overlook purchasing a new device stuck in Froyo.
