Verizon is already well on the way to complete domination of LTE in the U.S., so it’s no surprise that they are already working on standards for LTE-Advanced. Praveen Arteya, director of network technology at Verizon’s LTE Innovation Center, said that is too early to test LTE-Advanced or research potential speeds and features. but it is in the long term plan. Expected speeds will mostly likely hit 100 Mbit/s in motion and 1 Gbit/s stationary.

For now it’s all about the present LTE network, which as of yesterday covers 143 markets. They are also working internally on voice over LTE with vendor partners. and they will continue testing the voice standard in two of its pre-commercial markets through 2012.
