Under the guise of remaining competitive with Verizon and AT&T, Sprint has a hoard of changes that will affect their Premier program, return policy and even those special perks their customers have come to love. The Sprint Playbook seems to brace employees for an understandably upset customer base and coaches them to relay how Sprint “strive(s) to give customers what they want most and sometimes that also means eliminating things that are enjoyed only by a few.”
The eliminations begin with the Sprint Premier program, of which enrollment has already stopped and existing members will begin hearing from Sprint with more details in a few days. Furthermore, members will have to use their final Premier upgrade on or before December 31, 2012 and can say good-bye to those neat accessory discounts and annual anniversary gifts at the end of 2011. So much for loyalty.
Sprint’s also trimming their 30-day satisfaction guarantee to a 14-day return policy and their “New For You” upgrade time frame from 22 months to 20; the latter of which begins October 2nd, though it provides little comfort compared to the substantial discontinuations.
While some customers are more understanding of the new changes than others, many are left with a bad taste in their mouths and are disappointed in the loss of the very incentives that have kept them loyal to Sprint up to this point.
