We all love the Android platform…that’s why we’re here, right? But we all have to admit that the selection of games in the Android arena still has some room for improvement. Well, that might be about to change.  OpenFeint, a community of game developers who specialize in “social gaming,” has just announced that it will be joining the Android platform later this summer.  It boasts some 9,200 game developers who have been actively developing for iPhone, and their addition to the Android platform could be a nice boon for our favorite little green robot. “Android is an evolving gaming platform that will greatly benefit from OpenFeint’s industry leading online gaming and community technologies,” Glu Mobile’s CEO Niccolo de Masi is quoted as saying.  Glu Mobile is just one company among the bunch who will be throwing their hat in the ring to develop more games for Android — they’ve already got a few out there. In the next few months we should see some specifics on what will be available soon, so here’s hoping that this brings some new games to our phones. [via Gizmodo]
