Well two days ago we told you that HTC was busy working on releasing Froyo to the masses sometime ‘before Christmas.’ Apparently, the guys over at XDA Developers are working as well because they have just released Android 2.2 with HTC Sense for the HTC Desire. Although currently in BETA due to wallpaper issues and occasional instability, user udK has complete download, and installation instructions in the XDA Forums. This release reportedly only works with the Desire due to radio issues, but versions compatible with other phones are undoubtedly on the way. Has anyone downloaded this yet? Let us know what you think in the comments!

I downloaded Android 2.2 on HTC Desire. Have not noticed the faster browser experience. The core Google applications are not working – People, Talk, Gmail. Considering downgradingn nback to 2.1 for this reason.
