The HTC Runnymede has been revealed as one of the first phones to come out of the agreement between HTC and Beats by Dr. Dre. This one has a whopping 4.7-inch display. I remember earlier in the year, everyone was saying that 4-inches is the sweet spot, but now that seems small. Here is a rundown of the specs:
- 4.7-inch, 480×800 display
- 1.5GHz single-core MSM8255 (same CPU as Flyer)
- 768MB of RAM / 16GB of storage
- Eight-megapixel / 720p rear-camera with dual flashes & 1.3-megapixel front-facing webcam
- under 10 millimeters thick
- Sense 3.5
- DLNA
- Bundled Beats headphones (not earphones)
- Android 2.3.4
The specs are nothing to brag about, but the Runnymede’s camera and sound will be first class. The camera is expected to feature a backlit sensor plus a 28mm wide-angle lens and a focal ratio of f/2.2. For video, it can record at 60 frames-per-second, which is more than twice what the average phone can do. Sound quality is supposed to be top notch as it will feature SRS Surround, dual microphones, and it will recognize when Beats headphones are plugged in.
The Runnymede could ship in time for the holidays. We will let you know as we hear more.
