iPhone 4 taking yellow photos?

It seems these days that the iPhone 4  can’t catch a break. First, it was device shortages, then it was reception issues, and now it appears that many iPhone users are reporting camera issues. Specifically, that the 5-megapixel camera is taking yellow photos.

The issue apparently stems from a problem with the phone’s white balance, but whether that problem is hardware or software based remains to be seen.

Above is a comparison photo showing just how bad the issue has been for some users.

Hmmmm….I wonder if this problem will be denied by Apple too? Does anyone know how widespread the problem is yet?

    You’re holding it wrong!

apple most likely wont even acknowledge that there is a problem unless a ton of people complain, and right now it does not appear to be very widespread, but who knows what will happen in the next few days

And this has what to do with Android exactly?

When something goes wrong for apple it leads to an increase in android marketshare

Not that I would ever want to defend Apple, but this could easily be faked with photo editing.

My Mom & many other friends send me pics daily from their iPhone 4′s, & I’m sad to say they all blow my EVO’s pics away. I’ve never seen any pics come through looking yellow.

So either this yellowing is a fake, or it’s very isolated.

I had the yellow picture issue on my brand new iphone. So what did I do? I went into an Apple store and they were happy to replace it with a brand new one. The only problem is that the second brand new iphone, does the exact same thing. When taking pictures in some environments, mostly indoors, the pictures are yellowish even orange looking. The guy working at Apple told me that if the second phone does the same thing, just wait and see if Apple comes out with a firmware fix. So if not, I guess I’ll have to take a second trip, not including the four hour wait to buy the phone, to the Apple store.

I too have the yellow picture problem. I like the lead in “It seems these days that the iPhone 4 can’t catch a break.”

That’s because the product doesn’t deserve one. Apple dropped the ball on this one. The phone is fast, has lots of pixels, but the sound quality is horrible (even after I took it in to get that fixed), the camera quality is dismal, and oh yeah, it doesn’t receive calls as well as my 3G.

This yellowing issue is correct. I’ve had my iPhone 4 a week and all interior pics are yellow/orange. I’ve noticed that it only does it in regular lighting, not florecent lighting or outdoor. I’ve also noticed focus is not too clear. I went to Apple Store to exchange and genius gave me a hard time. He said it was my holding it and my lighting. He was so wrong, he tried not to give me a replacement but finally did. My new iPhone now does not have the problem. I’m going back to show him to prove it. And he said he was a pro photogragher. Very Dissappointed with genius. Why are they treating us like we are wrong? We paid alot of money. I felt unfairly treated.
