In explaining why Froyo takes so long to port to their devices, HTC’s global PR manager, Eric Lin, explained that testing all their apps takes some time, but he expects the 2.2 update “before Christmas.”
The Desire might be special, because there’s a lot of talk that it might get its update within the next month or so, but the other HTC devices may have a slightly longer wait.
I’m as eager for Froyo as the next guy, believe me, but it seems like things are moving pretty quickly on it, given how many devices have just recently gotten 2.1. We’re all gonna have to get new phones next year for Gingerbread anyway, right? Still, I love seeing the updates come down the pipe, and I know you guys do too!
