It’s been almost a couple of months since we’ve heard about the Huawei Sonic, but it looks like it’s starting to make its way back into headlines. The device was spotted at the FCC showing support for North American bands and is still slated to pack a punch with a budget friendly price. Its most likely the device is still T-Mobile bound with support for AT&T 3G frequencies but we’re unable to confirm that just yet. Not too shabby considering the acquisition that might take place. It’ll mean not having to replace your unsupported smartphone on T-Mo when and if AT&T takes over.
The Sonic, dubbed model U8652 has support for HSDPA speeds on the 850, 1900 and 2100 mhz frequencies. Stay tuned as we keep our eyes peeled as to what carrier the device will finally land on. The only other thing worth noting here is, where’s the NFC support we saw back in July? Looks like the manufacturer is ditching it for unknown reasons at the moment.
