Sony Xperia X10 to recieve over the air update soon

Sony Xperia X10

Sony announced via their product blog that Xperia X10 users are going to receive and update for their phone over the upcoming weeks. This update is to address performance, speed and responsiveness fixes for the X10 including speed enhancements to the messaging and camera UI.

As a bonus Sony is including a free backup and restore app for their X10 customers so they never have to worry about losing their setting and information anymore. Select markets will also be getting PlayNow with premium apps and games.

The update will be rolled out OTA and users will receive a notification when the update is ready for them to download. Sony recommends you contact your provider for time frames of the roll out.

I wonder if this is something that we’ll be able to install ourselves for those of us on a carrier that doesn’t provide the X10?

this and most of the updates i have got were not ota in canada, i had to use the phone companion to update it…

I will never buy from sony again,I paid good money for mr xperia x10 and all I seem to get from sony in regards to the update is soon and no real answer about 2.2froyo if they release 2.1 i will sell this dinosaur on Ebay and go pick up a handset such as the new galaxy or htc model that by far kicks sonys ass . Timescape an mediascape alone cannot compete with whats out there on the market,I don’t even use them anyways but sony seems to think that they are the cats meow i cannot in good consciousness recommend this phone to anyone else I was better off using my nokia n95 way better camera too so if u geeks at sony are reading this know that u will be losing a good customer if u don’t roll with FROYO!
