Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc White and Xperia Play Orange Spotted

The Xperia Arc, available unlocked in the US, currently comes in Midnight Blue and Misty Silver colors. The image seen above was taken at an Xperia Ray launch conference in Asia, which shows the Arc in white. It’s not confirmed if this is just the standard Arc in white or a new upgraded version.

Another image, taken at the Gamescon show in Germany, shows off the Xperia Play in an orange body. Again, there is no confirmation if this orange look is just a custom device or something that will be available for purchase. Hit the break to check out both pics. What do you think about these Sony smartphones? Worth looking into to add a nice gaming experience to your phone?

I have already purchased the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY (“PlayStation phone”) from Telstra Australia and I can tell you now, it is a brilliant smartphone, even if you’re only a casual gamer.

The only real let-down is that there is very little focus on the “PlayStation” side of things- at the time of writing, there are just nine Sony PlayStation/PSOne games available, and no clear indications that this will increase anytime soon… Even more disappointingly, is the fact that Sony Ericsson have (internally) shown the device to be capable of running LittleBigPlanet, Invizimals and God of War, yet there has been no suggestion that these will be made available to the public.

In saying this however, the long, LONG list of “Xperia PLAY optimized” and/or “Xperia PLAY exclusive” games ARE pretty impressive – some even come awfully close to Sony PSP (PlayStation Portable) quality – I just wish we’d see more PlayStation/PSOne titles…
