Samsung Android Phone Headed To T-Mobile And Sprint In Q2 2009

Samsung have announced that their Android powered handset will be launched in the second quarter of 2009 across both the T-Mobile and Sprint networks.

“We are accelerating the development process for Google phone in order to meet the specific need of local carriers. We will be able to release Google phone in the second quarter of the next year in the US market.”

It is believed that the Samsung Android phone will be based on the Omnia and Instinct models, which will feature a full touch-screen display and minimal physical buttons.

Samsung have reportedly added an extra 30 Linux and Java experts to their information and communication division, this brings the total number of developers to 80. The team was formed a year ago with the task of working with the Android platform for inclusion on Sprint hardware.
