Motorola Updates Status on 2.1 for CLIQ/CLIQ XT

Many CLIQ and CLIQ XT users are anxiously awaiting 2.1 to roll out to their phones — and who could blame them? Unfortunately, we don’t have a timeframe yet, but Q2 obviously didn’t happen. Motorola did issue this statement this morning, though:

“For those asking for an update regarding a software upgrade on CLIQ in the U.S., we’ve made a decision to take more time on the release to optimize the experience in some key areas. We will continue to work to deliver it as soon as possible and apologize that we have been unable to provide an upgrade to these users in Q2 as planned.

We are working hard to provide an upgrade to Android 2.1 as soon as we can. Our consumers’ experience is our first priority and we will provide an upgrade when we can deliver the best possible user experience.”

One thing that Android updates have taught a lot people: patience. Myself included. Glad to know that Motorola isn’t forgetting about you guys, though, and that the update may be sometime in the not-too-distant future.

Dear Motorola,

How about instead of taking time to poke fun @ Apple antenna issues you take care of your existing customers & deliver a damn update that you promised! Your EPIC failure is the main reasonvi haven’t switched over to Verizon yet. Say what you mean & mean what you say!!!!!!!!!! Now where’s my damn $25.00 gift card at?

I just wrote Moto what was probably the angriest E-Mail I have ever written, and I don’t even care if they read it! I just needed someone to know how I feel! I am done with Motorola and and all of their products. I don’t even blame T-Mo for this, because Moto admitted in that press release that their the ones holding it up. I am so done, I cannot wait until my contract is up, so I can get a new phone!

so now i’m on my fifth moto cliq holding out for the sixth to arrive.. Unhappy and i need to say i’m quite unhappy with the replacements ive been recently getting, keyboards not lighting up, the display breaking , turning off unexpectedly, being extreamly hot when charging..etc.. ive just had the worst luck with this phone.. they offered me the brand new dash and the new blackberry.. but i really like the overall flexibility of this phone so significantly that im attempting to look past it.. i just need to know if anyone else is having these problems with replacements.. or just in general.
