Samsung Nexus S 4G GRJ90 Update Dashes Free Hotspot Hopes For Sprint Customers

We all knew it was coming. Sprint is usually considered the most lenient or customer friendly carrier in the big 3, but asking for free wireless tethering was too much for even them to let slide. The newest OTA being rolled out for the Nexus S 4G fixes a lot of radio issues people were having, and even boosts the speeds for data, but at the price of the hotspot feature of the phone being turned off unless you pay for it. Again, this is not radical or unexpected, but it is still saddening. If you still want to tether devices to your phone there are still multiple work-arounds to do that (especially since Sprint has not removed a lot of these apps from their Market) because there will always be people out there that refuse to pay for this service. If your radios are fine and you’re happy with your data speeds you might be tempted to not accept the update. We won’t judge you.
