Last night Google announced that it’s official…they will be rolling out Android 2.2 (Froyo) to all Nexus One phones, starting last night. The rollout will be gradual, but they say that all Nexus One phones should have the update by the end of next week. So, those of you with the official Google phone, watch your notification bar for that update alert — once downloaded, the update will install automatically.

So, some of you are waiting on 2.1, Nexus One owners are getting 2.2, and a lot of you are stuck somewhere else. Here’s hoping that the carriers, phone manufacturers, and mod community can get the rest of us running 2.2 in the next few months now.
