No official word on this yet, but of course we like to bring you the rumors as well as the facts.
So, it’s being rumored that the Droid 2 will be launching August 23rd, and will be shipping with Android 2.2 (Froyo) instead of 2.1, as was originally thought. Existing Droid phones are expected to upgraded to 2.2 by then, so it’s conceivable.
When it comes to Android phones, I’m certainly of the “The more, the merrier” mindset, so I’m excited when any new device launches. I know a lot of people are excited about this phone in particular, so go ahead and mark August 23rd on your calendar…just, mark it in pencil, because it’s still subject to change.
