Many of us that have accepted invites to Google+ which in my opinion is a great alternative to Facebook. Although most G+’ers will tell you that it’s nothing like Facebook. It’s totally different. And i’d be one of them. But i’m not here to discuss that, now am I?
What I will discuss is the advancements that Google is making to improve Google+. Such as the news we have today. Last nitght Google aquired Fridge. Fridge is a social networking site that bases it networking on groups. They imagined that people should socialize online just like in the real world. Small groups of friends, focused on common interest. Fridge kept the social networking lightweight and simple as well. Unlike what Facebook has become. It’s probably more like what originally TheFacebook was. Isn’t this what we’re seeing in Google+? Don’t we like the clean feel and ability to create the circle which then become individual streams we can share our thoughts with.
Well co-founder, Austin Chang says – “Fridge will be shutting down but the core tenets will stay on in Google+”. The unique social networking site will be taken under Google’s wing, and intergrated into Google+, thus forming groups for Google+, which in-turn will possibly be know as ‘shared circles’.
This will definitely be something for the already over 18,000,000 Google+ users to look forward to (which I saw in a number of reports published earlier today). Even as I watched my Google+ stream update earlier, and I saw mention of a feature that this aquisition can easily accomplish.
What’s your thoughts on this? Are you a G+ user, are you loving it, or hating it? What’s been your feedback on the new and quickly growing Google+? Post your comments!
