Just a couple of weeks ago, Andy Rubin annoucned Android was at 500,000 activations per day. During today’s Google Q2 2011 conference call, Google CEO Larry Page, announced they have already moved to 550,000 activations. There are now over 400 Android devices worldwide, and over 135 million subscribers. That is mind-blowing.

Android already dominates Apple in market share, but how about apps? The Android Market now has 6 billion app downloads and over 250,000 apps. Apple still leads with 15 billion app downloads and 425,000 apps, but there is no question that the Android Market will not only catch up to the Apple App Store, but blow past it.

Things are looking very good in Android world today.
