Path has seen somewhat moderate success as an iOS only app. The app is for you phone picture enthusiasts out there. It’s a service that allows you to upload only picture taken from phone (no, you can’t cheat and upload any pictures you put on your phone) and share them with your friends. Unlike similar products, for some reason Path limits you to only 50 friends. Regardless, Path is a decently popular app for iOS and the Path team has said they are interested in developing it for Android (and keeping it up to par with its iOS counterpart). Here’s what the app (so far) allows.
- Capture and share life’s moments through photos.
- Stay connected to a small group of 50 close friends & family.
- Tag your moments with people, places, and things.
- View your friends’ moments.
- Let your friends know how each moment makes you feel with Emotion.
- Have intimate conversations around each moment with Chat.
- Know when your friends have seen your moments.
- Publish the occasional moment on Facebook for all of your Facebook friends to see.
The app is still in beta, so don’t expect a perfectly published product. Whether or not you are excited about this particular app, it should interest you as an Android user that more and more iOS developers are starting to hop on the Android bandwagon. Hopefully we see this trend continue. Google is starting to make it easier for developers in the Android Market so the skyis the limit. Good to see the Path team stepping out into the fray! Check out the app in the Market!
