Maemo as the linux layer, with Dalvik running on top of it. Put that on the new N97, and add a few small features (2nd SIM card, T-Mobile-USA 3G, a more G1 like keyboard), and I'd be in pig heaven :-) Personally, I think the best thing would be a hybrid.
