Get Your Smooth Animated HTC Sense Flip Clock No Matter What Device You’re Rocking

For those of you coveting that ever omnipresent HTC Sense UI Flip clock, we’ve got good news for you.  XDA member brainDead has provided a way for all non Sense devices to enjoy the smooth animation of the clock widget too.  The widget is smooth and sleek and will compliment any home screen on any device.  You can check out the full application thread and let us know what you think of it in the comments below.  Hit the break for some words from the developer himself.

From the developer:

I have just released the first beta of my widget. It’s a flip clock with smooth animation between each minute transition. I have not found another, non HTC, flip clock widget that animates as smooth as this one, so is this a first?

This is a beta version, so bugs can be expected. I have tested it on a couple of emulators and on my own phone, Nexus One.

You can change the time format between am/pm and 24-hour format in the system settings: Settings / Date & Time / Use 24-hour format (if this setting does not reflect the clock, change this setting and then change it back again, I would appreciate it if you would let me know if this happens to crack down on this weird behavior).

It does not appear to be battery hungry, or processor intensive. It does eat up a bit of memory and have found some difficulty adding more than one widget to the home screen.

Any feedback on how it runs is greatly appreciated. Please specify what phone/Android/ROM/launcher you are using and the logcat when experiencing bugs.

The layout and style are not definite and may change over time. Any suggestions are welcome.

After adding the clock to your home screen for the first time, and after every update, it will be setting up the clock which might take some time. Please be patient, check your notification area to see the progress.

Cool stuff… Although, the fact that its a flip clock is about the only thing that ties the likeness of this to HTC Sense. Wish it looked more like the actual widget. Great job by the dev nevertheless.
